Attwater receives its new AS9100 certification
Showing its commitment to aerospace quality, composite laminates manufacture and machining, Attwater & Sons Ltd has just undertaken its re-certification audit of the aerospace quality management system standard, AS9100.
Quality director, Dave Swarbrick says, “For over 25 years now we have supplied the aerospace sector with industrial laminates and electrical insulating materials. This certification, originally achieved in 2005, sets us apart in the industry and demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality products.”
After a rigorous five day audit, Attwater had only a couple of minor issues to resolve before receiving its new certificate. “We really welcome the rigour of the AS9100 certification process. Whilst we sailed through without any major problem, we did so due to our commitment to continual improvement.”
Attwater has the technical expertise needed to manufacture its configured products, a range of polyimide glass and phenolic cotton laminates widely used in the aerospace industry. Its best sellers in this sector are B34 polyimide glass and B10 phenolic cotton grade which are typically used in mounting strips, washers and gaskets.
The company’s history in quality management system requirements has seen it being accredited to MOD AQAP4, BS5750, ISO9002:1994, ISO9001:2008 and the AS9100 aerospace system standard.
